Handmade Wooden Map of Ireland

Just released my brand new map of Ireland. This map is now smaller in size, perfect for your table or just put on the wall. This was requested by a lot of people on my Facebook page.

Unlike flat prints, this map is built from 5 layers of wood, carefully laser-cut and painted in different shades of blue to capture the shape of Ireland and surrounding waters. Each county is engraved, making the details clear and easy to read.

The 3D depth gives the map a striking look on the wall – photos can’t capture the same effect as seeing it in person as adverts doesn’t allow high quality images.

A plexiglass sheet is then placed to give it some clarity and protection.

Framed in ash solid hardwood, protected with lacquer and sealed at the back for protection, the map comes ready to hang straight out of the box.

Every layer of wood is precision-cut with a laser, then individually painted in different shades of blue to bring the water depth to life. Once finished, every single piece is carefully placed and glued together by hand. Then saw and plane the frame, mitre and rebate it to fit the map. A final sand to make it smooth.

This isn’t a mass-produced art piece – it’s a detailed, time-intensive build that takes hours of work from computer to actually making it, which is why the price reflects the effort and quality that goes into it.
